Antica invited to present at 2023 Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival, UAE

Antica Australis has been invited to participate in the 2023 Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival, presented under the auspices of the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation.

Now in its tenth year, the Ras al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival is renowned for annually reviving the abandoned and ancient 16th century pearling village of Al Jazeerah Al Hamra in the northernmost and most natural emirate of Ras al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates.

As part of the festival program, Antica Australis will be presenting our signature cultural dining experience through our unique format of food and storytelling in February 2023.

We will be serving up an Italian/Emirati menu starring local produce sourced direct from Ras Al Khaimah’s organic farms, date orchards and camel dairies. We will also be foraging for native lavender, sage and wild honey in the emirate’s Jebel Jais mountains.

Paolo has designed an ancient Ciociarian menu with an Emirati twist for the Antica Australis pop-up events during the festival, featuring Agnello alla Romana (an ancient Roman dish over 2,000 years old of lamb with anchovies) and taking inspiration from the immediate surroundings to present a pistachio & date risotto plus an Italian medieval milk pudding ‘budino’)made with camel milk infused with saffron & garnished with lavender for dessert.
