Antica Travel Co. has announced a newly-developed itinerary for its Ciociaria Cultural Travel Experiences commencing from May 2025. The itinerary features boutique accommodation in a 19th century Belle Époque villa, stepping out into the main piazza of one of Ciociaria’s most charming villages and encircled by the walls of a 1,000 year old castle.
Two hosted cycling tour groups from Australia on an itinerary in two stages from Veroli to Atina has just demonstrated it is possible to deliver sustainable tourism in Ciociaria - by following the compass of great hospitality with a green 'slow travel' approach.
20 minutes beyond Millthorpe you’ll find the cute, historic village of Carcoar. There’s so much to love about this quaint corner, but at the top of the list is Antica Australis.
We have partnered with Australian cycle tour operator, Bespoke Cycle Tours to co-create and co-host signature gourmet cycling itineraries through the ‘hidden’ region of Ciociaria in central Italy.
The first of these tours will be presented in September 2025, with two separate groups of Australian cyclists joining us in Ciociaria. Reservations open for 2025 & 2026.
Meet the Ciociarian culinary creatives, local producers, vignerons & local artisans who have been the inspiration for the Antica Australis journey, and explore the layers of ancient Samnite, Roman & Medieval history of Ciociaria in central Italy with Antica Australis & Antica Travel Co. owners - Paolo & Kelly Picarazzi.
In the tiny town of Carcoar, Paolo & Kelly Picarazzi have created a little piece of Italy, offering an unforgettable dining experience that comes with a distinctly local flavour.
