Antica Australis features in June issue of Qantas Travel Insider
“Carcoar might be a small town of just under 300 people but it has a big drawcard: Antica Australis restaurant. Its owners, Paolo and Kelly Picarazzi, share their picks in the village and beyond.”
Antica Australis features in the June edition of Qantas Travel Insider inflight magazine, with a two-page spread on our inside tips for our local producers, vignerons and places to stay in the region.
OUR LOCAL HEROES:
Cameron and his awesome team select only the best for our Antica guests, and they’re sourcing direct from local farms and producers.
Making elegant and award-winning goat cheeses, it’s a taste of Ciociaria in Carcoar.
Handcrafted wines made from carefully selected parcels of vineyards with the aplomb of someone with generations of winemakers in his DNA.
We try and escape as often as we can after a week of prepping to zoom up the road to the next village of Mandurama and sit in the beer garden of the Mando Pub for the best Black Angus steak & burgers in the region - the produce is coming in straight from their own farm.
When we can make a great escape to the big smoke of nearby Orange, we pull a chair up at Mr Lim’s and let the friendly team serve us a feast of Korean BBQ and Asian delights to change up our tastebuds.
Our favourite fig and pomegranate grower in the world. You can’t buy direct from him, and he usually only supplies the best restaurants in Sydney - but he made an exception for Antica so our guests can enjoy his incredible produce with us.
The combination of dining at Antica with a weekend stay at Hargans Cottage is irresistible, it’s the perfect way to experience living like a local in our gorgeous village. You’ll be completely spoilt with homemade baked goods, complimentary wine and a roaring fire on arrival (in winter) and it’s only a wander away over a romantic bridge under starry skies from Antica.
